Find out who we are and what we’re about. As you explore, we invite you to connect with us! If you have any questions or want to learn more, we’d love to hear from you.

We all have a purpose, a WHY. Why do we exist and do what we do? Why has God created Mountain View Church? He created us to give him glory. We live out 1 Corinthians 10:31—So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Our purpose is to give him glory 24/7. We have chosen to do this by looking to see the lost saved, the dead come to life, and those who are bound be released. We are committed to looking at all we do through the grid of what will bring glory to our only King and walking in love-based obedience. We are looking to see people reached locally, nationally, and globally through planting churches that also give God glory by spreading the Good News of Jesus.
We are never satisfied—we have never had enough of Jesus. We can’t get enough of his presence, his love, his knowledge. We will never reach the depth of who God is. No matter how much we know, how much we experience, how many people come to faith in Jesus, we just want more. It is like eating a great meal or drinking a large glass of water: We are even hungrier the next day, we are even more thirsty. Our hunger is never satisfied nor is our thirst satiated. We want more. We also want more of God’s presence, power, love, gifts, lost saved, people baptized, more countries to share Jesus in! We want more in all areas.
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
-Matthew 7:7-8
To be a House of Prayer for all the Nations.
When Jesus described the Church, he didn’t say it was a house of salvation, deliverance, or missions—he declared that the Church is a house of prayer for all the nations. We are called to be a people who pray. We are to pray individually and corporately. We are called to pray about the big and small things. We are called to lift everything up to King Jesus. Our love and dependance upon King Jesus is seen when we invite him into every situation of life. Our faith in God is seen when we ask our King to solve all our problems. It shows that we have no other idols when we ask the only one that can change the situation to fight for us.
He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”
-Mark 11:17
To present the Whole Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Whole Person throughout the Whole World.
The only hope for the world is the Good News of Jesus. We know that the whole gospel is the answer. We believe that the Bible is God’s word and is authoritative in all areas of life. We believe each word is God’s word to us and carries power. Therefore, we submit our lives to the Word of God and take it at face value. Consequently, we are continuationists and believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit function today. We expect miracles and signs and wonders to be the norm as we surrender to not just the indwelling of the Holy Spirit but also to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. We believe God touches the whole person and we are compelled and excited to take this message to the whole world as we LIVE THE MISSION and GO, GIVE and PRAY. Therefore, we are to love God and love people in all ways and at all times by speaking the truth that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ, the Way, Truth, and Life.
“‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
-Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
-Matthew 28:18-20
Evangelism and Discipleship.
We believe that we know when business is good in the church when we are seeing evangelism and discipleship happening in all areas of ministry at all campuses. Business is good not when we are making widgets that bring us money, rather, when people are placing their faith in Jesus Christ and growing in their faith in him. We are looking for people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, to be disciples of Jesus who lead others to Jesus who become disciples of Jesus, repeating the process in all the generations.
All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.
-2 Corinthians 4:15
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.
-2 Corinthians 3:18
God is Good and we Glorify Him.
We believe in the God revealed in the Bible.
We believe that God is sovereign, loving and holy.
We believe that He defines goodness and is a generous God.
This is our purpose.
Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the signs that typically accompany it. We want to be daily filled with God’s Spirit, using His gifts and demonstrating His fruit. We strive to avoid grieving the Holy Spirit by actively practicing all that the Spirit teaches us. We cultivate a culture of response to the voice of God’s Spirit.
We believe that Prayer is the most important part of our love relationship with God so we practice daily personal prayer. We believe that we are called to be a House of Prayer so we practice regular corporate prayer. We believe that we should pray for each other so we offer prayer in all our gatherings. We believe that we should pray for the lost, so we pray for our top 10 List.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, so we submit to it’s authority and read it every day. We utilize a daily reading and journaling schedule called S.H.A.P.E. We believe that the Bible is God’s authoritative Word so we seek to take obedient action as we hear and read it.
Church: the Body of Christ, Our Family
We believe that the Church is a family formed by God Himself, not merely a social institution. We believe fellowship in God’s family is vital for Christian growth and so we emphasize Life Groups and encourage membership. We believe that love covers a multitude of sins. We should make allowances for each other’s faults, so we believe that we should speak well of others, blessing and encouraging them. We believe in working with like-minded churches and organizations in our city and beyond.
Release the Next Generations
We believe that God has called elders and pastors to lead in the church, so we train young people for spiritual leadership roles. We believe that we must invest in discipling, so we offer many opportunities to learn and grow in leadership. We believe that we must invest in the next generation, so we prioritize apprenticeships and giving young leaders ministry opportunities.
Radical Generosity
We believe in giving generously of our time, talents, and treasures—as individuals and as a church. We invest sacrificially in missions—locally, nationally, and globally—typically investing approximately one-third of our annual income in missions. We believe in tithing and in “over and above” giving. We encourage service with a humble heart, and we encourage all members to find a place of ministry inside and outside the church.
