At
Mountain View Community Church we take local and overseas missions
very seriously. We send and support a number of church planting
missions around the globe. We support them in prayer, financially, with
encouragement and visits. We comminted as a church body to uphold
them in our prayers. Therefore, we encourage you to write them
and pray for them as well. We have provided some basic prayer needs
along with each missionary.
“Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you”

Alfredo and Sandra, along
with their two sons, are Columbian church planters in Guadalajara,
Mexico. We have been long-time supporters of their ministry as
church planters in both Columbia and Mexico. The Beltrans are
working closely with middle class professionals in an urban area.
We are in partnership with the Mennonite Brethren Mission Board
in our support of the Beltran family. Alfredo is a graduate of
the seminary in Medellin, Columbia and is gifted in leadership
and has a dynamic vision for the church. Sandra has a real burden
for the lost and is gifted in the area of relationship building.
They began their ministry in Guadalajara in 2003 and the church
has continued to grow as people enter into a personal relationship
with Jesus and are baptized. They began their public church services
in 2004.
- For the new services that they started last
month
- For the new contacts that have been made
- That the group of young people they're working
with develope a strong commitment to God, his word, and his church
- That their testimony as a family would impact
the area they live in
- That they would be able to form a small group
in the home
- That their relationship with other churches
in Guadalajara grows stronger and that they would offer service
and support to them

Joe and Paula are currently
part of a church planting team in Massama, Portugal, under Mennonite
Brethren Missions International. They are working along side
the Jost family, helping to form a church in a growing suburban
neighborhood, west of Lisbon. Their ministries at the church
include working with youth, discipleship training, evangelism
and worship. Both Joe and Paula interned at MVCC for the year
of 2003. They have two teenage boys, Pedro and Alfonso, along
with the newest addition to the family, Deborah. They balance
their time between working at the church plant and working with
poor youth at the Swiss Mission.
- For the IMPACT group as a whole
- That the parents and children would get
invovled in IMPACT
- For Pedro as he starts up his enrollment
process with Fresno Pacific University
- For the Swiss Mission budget 2006
- That this upcoming year would be very fruitful
and productive

Stephen and Roselyne Mairori
are serving as missionaries in their home town of Kitale, Kenya.
They have three children, Seth, Kathy and Grace. They are working
with an unreached people group of 400,000 known as the “Saboat”.
Stephen is currently equipping pastors and Christian leaders with
the tools they need to reach the lost in both Kenya and the Congo.
Roselyne works with local women, leading seminars and teaching.
The training center where they work is doing well, where they currently
have fifteen students on session. Pray for them as they help people
grow in their faith and as they share with people who have never
heard the name of Jesus.
The following letter has several
current struggles in the Mt. elgon region that need your prayers. |
Hi Everyone,
I want to thank you all for praying for the people in Mt.Elgon.
Except for two people that were killed last week (one by police and
the other by the militia) it was generally a peaceful week. The first
lady visited Kopsiro and saw first hand the pathetic situation. Yesterday
the minister of State in charge of Internal Security and the minister
of lands were at Kapsokwony for meeting with all leaders. (I was
actively involved in the meeting and meeting prior to this one).
The government ministers spoke well and gave a way forward that was
generally accepted by the leaders. A new committee involving all
stake holders will look afresh at all the land applicants and then
give the names to the minister of land. The government promised more
land should there be more people out of the original 7,000 that needed
land (only 1732 had been allocated in the contentious allocation
out of the 7,000 applicants). The government also promised to allow
the local community leaders to lead in the process as opposed to
the politicians. My feeling is that we got a good way to solve the
problem. Please continue to pray that those in the forest fighting
will now surrender their guns to the government (they have been given
amnesty). Pray also that a good committee to oversee the land allocation
will be found.
Pastor Benson Juma Thank you for praying for the family of Pastor
Juma. Through the funds we received from LBC, we were able to help
the family in all the burial expenses. We also helped purchase a
small piece of land that Juma was buried. Chrispine Juma our ICM
staff has been with the family and has been of great help. We are
accessing the situation to see how best the widow and the children
can be helped in the long. Their immediate family members (who were
near and managed to come) are also very poor people and they greatly
appreciated the help ICM was able to give. We want to thank you for
helping and praying for this family.
We will be meeting will most of the students and alumni of ICM Mt.Elgon
next week. We have traced most of them and we would like to work
with them in reaching out to the community through the funds that
have been sent in(it will mainly be for the most needy cases of all
the people and for ICM Mt.Elgon alumni and students that lost their
homes and property). Red Cross has been helping in reaching out to
the masses but it is like a small drop in the lake. Again thank you
for praying. I believe that God has heard our prayers and we may
be entering the phase of reconstruction, healing and reconciliation.
Saddleback Church has sent a team to access the situation. They met
with Red Cross, Samaritan purse among other organizations. Today
they leave for Kitale and will be heading for Mt.Elgon next week.
Pray for the team while they are here. I can't thank you enough for
your prayers and standing with Mt.Elgon people in this time of hardship.
In Christ
