Strive
to love God with all that we have and all that we are. And
to love the people around us in practical and sacrificial
ways. |
|
A commitment to growing in
our relationship with Jesus through Bible study, prayer, confession
of sin and repentance. |
|
We believe that the Holy Spirit
is God’s gift to every believer and that we are to be filled
with the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. This daily walk produces
the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in the Bible. We also believe
that there are unique times when the Spirit comes in power and
transforms us in a more dramatic way. These “power points”
or encounters with the Holy Spirit are usually followed by significant
changes in our relationship with God and the release of the spiritual
gifts mentioned in the Bible. |
|
Faith in God and prayer to
God are at the heart of our ministry, enabling us to pursue God's
vision. Faith is often spelled “R-I-S-K”
and we have found that to be the case. We believe that God speaks
to believers today and our faith is most often exercised in a response
to God’s voice calling us to step out. Prayer is the infrastructure
of MVCC and it undergirds all that we do. We rely on faithful prayer
and fasting and challenge believers to pray fervently with their
minds and with their spirits as God enables them. |
|
We teach and model lifestyle,
relational and mass evangelism, the spread of God's love and hope
through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to all people that Mountain
View can reach both locally and globally. |
|
Our desire is for our children
to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus at a young age
and to continually grow in their faith. Our children and youth
are given the training necessary and are challenged to live out
their faith at home, at school as well as at church. |
|
Our personal commitment to
Jesus as Lord, in all aspects of life, compels us to encourage
and teach others, both individually and in groups, to know and
follow Christ, going deeper in our relationship with him. |
|
Touching the heart of God,
in spirit and in truth, as every person celebrates God's presence,
listens to His voice and has the opportunity to meet God and be
changed. |
|
Regular involvement is vital
to personal growth, experiencing Christian life in community and
providing a safe place for new people. |
|
Extending the Great commission
in our city and to other regions through new churches. |
|
Facilitate and encourage believers
to discover their spiritual gift(s) and provide ministry opportunities
for all believers to faithfully serve the Lord. |
|
Further the well-being of our
surrounding neighborhood, community, city, country and world. |
|
In order for any church to
fulfill her divine calling she must nurture a spirit of generosity.
We must learn to be giving of ourselves in friendship, service,
and material resources. The church should be known for its generosity
toward the needy both locally and globally. |
|
We are called to provide support
for single individuals, for families, for parents, for single parents,
for children, for divorced people and for people at various stages
in the life cycle. |
