History
The original vision for a new church in Clovis came from the church planting board of the Mennonite Brethren Church. The board called Fred and Esther Leonard to pioneer the establishment of this new church in the summer of 1993. By the fall of that year Mountain View Community Church (MVCC) with Pastor Fred and Esther Leonard had a core group of 7 other adults.

After 9 months of “incubation” the church was “born” on May 1, 1994. The church had been meeting at Clovis High until May 8, 2005. The church currently ministers to between 800 and 900 individuals each weekend and now resides at its permanent home on Ashlan and Fowler.

We are affiliated with the U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (www.usmb.org) and the Pacific District of Mennonite Brethren Churches (www.pdcmbc.org). For more information on the history of the Mennonite Brethren denomination go to www.usmb.org/our-story.htm.
